This is a nice deck. The deck I received isn't exactly as the listing picture shows (perhaps I have a newer edition?). My cards have the same goddess illustrations, and the off white borders, but all the writing in the borders is gone (except for the numbers). This makes the cards much less visually 'busy' than the standard, multi-language Lo Scarabo cards pictured - but you have to really know your cards. This is probably not the deck you want to get if you are new to reading tarot. There is a small pamphlet style LWB in many languages, as is standard with Lo Scarabo decks. If you want a traditional card meaning, this guide won't help you. The brief card descriptions focus on the goddess on the card and not traditional card meanings (although the goddesses chosen for each card have been chosen with a great deal of thought to choose goddesses whose personal stories 'fit' with that traditional card meaning). I have personally been wanting to learn about and work with more goddess energies in my daily practice and I think this deck will be nice for daily draws. Card quality is decent. Comes in a tuck style box.

I bought these after PAGAN FEDERATION magazine recommended them. However, the booklet explaining each cards designation is somewhat lacking. I believe this to be a cynical marketing ploy to force you to buy the accompanying paperback to gain access to each Tarot's explanation. In addition the paperback is very difficult to source and very expensive to purchase. It is the first time I have been dissatisfied with a TAROT card purchase, and thus I would not recommend this product, unless the prospective buyer has the where with all to afford both products.

I am very impressed with Universal Goddess Tarot from lo Scarabeo. All the cards feature female deities from various cultures all over the world. They are placed on the card that most closely represents their story, powers, deeds, personality. The cards are very detailed with symbols of both the tarot and of the goddesses.

The LWB has a meaningful explanation of the goddess or goddesses on the card and how they relate to the tarot. The LWB covers 5 languages. Many of the cards made me curious to learn more about lore or I was unable to figure out how to pronounce their name. Wikipedia has entries for every one I looked for. The story behind the goddess on "the Wheel of Fortune" is absolutely outrageous and should be made into a movie.

The deck comes with a Temple reading that is appropriate for the themed deck. I love the artwork on this deck! The goddesses are playful and honest in their depiction of feminine beauty. Not all the women are busty or scantly clad. I am in love with the athletic blond on the nine of cups. The dangerous queen of swords has detail and depth that adds to the meaning of the card.

I think this deck was well researched and expertly designed. I am inspired when I use this deck and feel connected to the female spirit. If you read tarot and want to have one deck that celebrates all things female, this deck will impress you.

I purchased this deck as a novelty because I thought it would be a great journal starter while I'm studying the goddesses. However, I was surprised how this deck felt for me immediately coming out of the box. The little white book is not carrying a ton of information about each goddess which is why I am using a different book about goddesses I picked up at a local shop, but the art work and the simplicity of these cards amaze me. This is a nice buttery deck. The card stock is about on point for lo scarabeo but these cards don't have any words only numbers on them. I love this. And even though I lean toward borderless decks, these boarders don't bother me at all. I have done a few spreads for myself with this deck and wow wow wow, getting in touch with my divine feminine for sure. This is probably not a deck for everyone but it is most assuredly on my top 5 list. I will be enjoying it so much I feel I may need a back up copy!!!
