所謂Nu Jazzの流れを決定付けた「Chasin' The Jazz Gone By」とは対比をなす２ndアルバムでまさにタイトル通りのHOTな音に。個人的には前作の衝撃が大きかっただけに☆４つに留めましたが、プロデューサーのトーマスカリオ主導の特異性のあるグループでトーマスカリオ曰くCDとLIVEの2つの顔があるとのこと。来日も間近（来週！！）で是非行きたいところだが残念ながら僕は行けません。是非ライブ音源も出して欲しいですね。 お勧めは今回もゲスト参加したマークマーフィーが歌うKEROUAC DAYS IN MONTANA・・とテッポマッキネン作のSHAKE IT。特に後者は腹もとい腰フリフリ党（by 町田康←おわかり？）なサイコーにカッコいいナンバーです。
I angst over the star rating system on Amazon. Five stars doesn't mean it's a classic. It just means "I love it". The Five Corners mix 60's hot beats with (especially on this album) a dose of rockabilly; then colour it up with a blend of Jukka Eskola's gloriously colourful trumpet and Timo Lassy's judiciously sweet flute and saxes. It's a kind of Austin Powers jazz - but even that implies an irony it doesn't have. This is fast, straight and very, very tight music. Veteran jazzer Mark Murphy provides vocals on some of the tracks - adding a fabulous, seedy, time warp feel. The band has played some serious, international venues beyond its native Finland and was touted briefly as a youth phenomenon. Appropriately there is probably more energy than content here, and the package might be too calculated for beard-stroking jazz fans. It zips though. It really zips.
The music here is in the main uptempo/midtempo jazz dance. Wish this band would get back together. Saw them live at London Jazz Cafe many moons ago (2006),awesome.I bought from a used dealer, great service great value.
