2009 reissue of this AOR classic. Originally release in 1984, the debut and only album from the curiously named Oakland-based Billy Satellite may not have set the charts on fire but it did register high on the AOR Richter scale of melodic Rock fans the world over. Led by the supremely talented Monty Byrom (later to front successful country rockers Big House) and featuring Danny Chauncey (later to join. 38 Special) on guitar the band enjoyed a brief moment in the spotlight when tracks such as 'Satisfy Me' and 'I Wanna Go Back' (later made a sizeable hit by Eddie Money) achieved wide spread airplay. Although the band's initial success was severely frustrated, over the years, their legacy has continued to grow with many AOR fans citing this album as one of the greatest records of it's kind that failed to achieve, at the time, major recognition. Rock Candy.
I bought the CD, to replace a long lost LP. I am so glad I did. These guy are so awesome, good clean music with alittle southern sound to it. It is a shame these guy's got over looked, for what ever the reason! There is not a bad song on it. Saddest thing is this is the only one by the band. Thinking about getting it? Stop thinking and get! It is that good!
A good album from a middling 80s band. Very glad to have it though. Very hard to find, much like Duke Jupiter, a band with a similar ability, notoriety, and a bar band sound. "Satisfy me" is a great tune. "I wanna go back" isn't my cup of tea, although fans of the Eddie Money cover might enjoy listening to it. Rockin' Down the Highway was another good tune, not to be confused with the Doobie Bros song of the same name
