I bought this for my four-year-old son who loves Yokai Watch. I pack bento for my son everyday for school and was looking to expand his bento box repertoire. While this is a great box, it is not my favorite. The box is fairly narrow and deep, as compared to other boxes I have for my son. That being said, I can't put as much variety as I can with his other boxes. This box works great for things like rice balls. We have also used this for snacks such as fruits and crackers for car rides. While it has a rubber lining in the cover, I would not feel comfortable putting something liquid like soup in here. So far, I have never had leftover sauce leak from this container. The box is of great quality and looks exactly like the picture. The price may seem bit steep, but keep in mind this is imported from Japan.
All in all, if your child is a Yokai Watch fan, you won't be disappointed. As for not looking like it can store much food, the idea behind Japanese bento is to pack food firmly so that it doesn't move around. With that concept in mind, a good amount of food can fit in here.
