John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born on the 3rd January, 1892 at Bloemfontein in the Orange Free State, but at the age of four he and his brother were taken back to England by their mother. After his father’s death the family moved to Sarehole, on the south-eastern edge of Birmingham. Tolkien spent a happy childhood in the countryside and his sensibility to the rural landscape can clearly be seen in his writing and his pictures.

i saw in youtube ppl complaining at the paper being too thick but couldnt notice any problem when i actually held them.

This is an IDEAL set of Tolkien's masterpiece. The binding is strong and solid, the cover is made of a strong heavy stock, and the companion book is a veritable (sp?) encyclopedia of LotR knowledge. I recommend THIS set to everyone!

はじめkindleで読破したのですが、せっかく英語で読めたので、記念に紙の本が欲しいと思っていたところ、トールキン自身のイラストがカバーに使われているのに惹かれて購入しました。ほかのレビュワーの方も書かれていますが、背表紙が少しずれて、白いラインが出てしまっている巻があります。日本で出版された本にはありえないことでしょうが、まあ、個人的にはそこまで気にしていないです。トールキンの独特のイラストが不思議な雰囲気を出しており、素敵です。

LOTR should be required reading. Very nice book set here. Nothing heirloom quality, but very well made and still look nice on a bookshelf. Nice legible font to read and crisp paper.

Amazon está de parabéns! Cada vez me surpreendo mais. Fiz a compra no sábado à noite e no começo da tarde de segunda recebi o pedido em perfeito estado (detalhe que eu moro em Belém, PA). O box veio lindo, sem nenhum amassado, em perfeitas condições. E sobre Tolkien, não há o que falar. Ler O Senhor dos Aneis no idioma original não tem preço.

No era lo que esperaba, por el precio del producto esperaba mejor calidad, las contraportadas literalmente parecen impresas así en casa mala calidad, venía rota la caja era un regalo y definitivamente no se lo dí, iba a regresar el producto pero al final se me hizo más lío y si me lo quedé pero para nada estoy contenta con el producto, creo que cuando se vende un producto se debería ser sincero con lo que vas a vender, yo quedé muy decepcionada esperaba mucho más. No lo recomiendo, si eres fan del señor de los anillos y no te importa tanto lo de fuera y lo quieres comprar por el contenido en sí, ok.. maybe pasa pero si es un regalo para un fan yo sinceramente no lo recomiendo.

Les couvertures sont toutes noires, ce qu'on voit sur la photo c'est juste le papier qui protège la vraie couverture donc un peu déçue au départ car ce n'était pas clair sur l'annonce mais sinon, ils me plaisent énormément.
Les feuilles ne sont pas trop fines, c'est relié avec de la colle mais la technique permet de garder le livre ouvert sans qu'il se ferme sans cesse. Il y a une carte du Mordor dans la partie 3.
Satisfaite et conforme à la description :)
