他にも、ビージーズの曲「HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE」(歌っているのは別の人)や、RUN-D.M.C.の「WALK THIS WAY」も入っています。 どの曲もドラマシリーズの雰囲気にぴったり合っていました。
Felice dell'acquisto fatto. Peccato che entrambi i cd aquistati siano arrivati con la copertina spaccata, essendo un regalo non è stata proprio una bella cosa trovarli cosi.
Originally, I was only going to download the Theme Song from I-Tunes, but I-Tunes only allows you to download the entire album. So, at that point, I decided to buy the CD from Amazon and at least get the liner notes/photos and a physical disc for my money. I was happy with my purchase. One of my favorite parts of the "Sex and the City" TV series was the music; although a little different in tone, the movie soundtrack does not disappoint either. It is definitely a more commercial collection than the TV show, and also aimed at a younger audience, however, it is still a fantastic collection of original music and reworkings of classic songs. "Labels of Love" is a high-energy update of the classic SATC theme song, done by Fergie and played over the movie's opening credits. "All Dressed in Love" is the closing song, belted by "Dreamgirls" Jennifer Hudson (who also has a nice part in the movie as Carrie's personal assistant). Some other faves: "All This Beauty" by The Weepies has a 60's Beatles pop feel to it; "It's Amazing" by JEM has a wonderful rhythm to it; "How Deep is Your Love" by The Bird & The Bee is an excellent remake of the classic Bee Gees song from "Saturday Night Love." Run DMC provides a fun remix of "Walk This Way," which is the perfect song for Carrie to model her 80's wardrobe in an homage to bad MTV videos while the girls give her thumbs up/down on whether she should keep that particular dress or not. "Auld Lang Syne" sung by Mairi Campbell is effective in the movie, played underneath a montage of loneliness on New Year's Eve; to listen to it by itself on a CD...not quite as good. So for those who haven't seen the movie, it may not be as meaningful. The only somewhat-miss for me is the James Bond-sounding movie theme by The Pfeifer Broz. Orchestra; it's just a little over-blown and short in my opinion. Otherwise, an excellent group of songs that bear repeated listenings.
A promotion for a Vol. 2 release is included. The liner notes include 4 beautiful photos of the quartet of girls who are the stars, and they all look ravishing! Michael Patrick King writes a nice paragraph briefly discussing the music of the movie. My beef with the liner notes (which can be applied to most liner notes) is that there is no explanation of where in the movie these songs were used; would always be nice to know.
