Decent Vipco release, its a shame Vipco closed down as they had some very interesting titles.
Not a bad release, after the opening scenes the picture quality seems to improve as at the start the image is a little grainy but nowt too bad. Seen a lot worse.
Anyway The Last Hunter is an excellent vietnam film, not the sort of films I usually watch but this was very enjoyable. The story revolves around a mission to destroy a radio transmitter sending out anti American propaganda. It has a few corny flashbacks, unintentionally funny moments and the odd poor special effect but overall its very well done. The action sequences are great and the pace never drags. As it mentions several times on the box there are some pretty gruesome moments in it with some nasty deaths and graphic war violence. And If you have a phobia of rats you have been warned there is a scene you will not like at all!
The late David Warbeck is very good but John Steiner has the best role as Captain Cash, with some hilarious lines. Also worth mentioning are the jungle locations that look very authentic, and add a lot to the film.
Dont know what the region 1 release is like that i have seen advertised but this region 2 one is highly recommended.
