I’ve only been using it for a month or so, but I like the results. Apparently, so have people at school. I overheard a classmate complimenting my hair to our mutual friend, and I’ve received several compliments on my hair since I’ve started using the curling iron. You can easily control the amount of curl that you want your hair to have, simply by the technique and temperature. Even though I’ve been curling my hair every two to three days, I don’t see any damage so far, but that could also be from using a heat protectant spray.
Because I asked my hairdresser to give me some bangs, whenever I feel like I need to put less effort into my hair, I can simply curl the curtain bangs instead of the ends of all of my hair. One of my only two complaints is related to my forehead bangs. I feel like curling those is the scariest part because my biggest fear is always that I’ll burn myself (even worse, my face). Even when I do manage to get the iron to curl my bangs, I can never manage to make them curl properly like how I saw my hairdresser do it. It’s most likely due to my own inexperienced technique, but the result that I always get is the bangs immediately parting from the middle and splitting off to the two sides of my face, then somehow curling to meet in the middle. The worst part is that they almost literally fly straight away from my face. It’s always so frustrating because then I’d try again, so I’d have to face the fear of burning my face again, yet still never achieving the result that my hairdresser did in one effortless swoop while still chatting with me. The other (probably more important) issue is that it takes awhile to cool off (usually about five to ten minutes). The only reason why it’s a problem is because I have two cats, who live primarily in my room, so I’m always worried that their curious natures will bring them too close and cause them to either burn themselves or knock it off my table and injure themselves. Whenever I finish using the iron, I have to put it on my table and use some books and pens to discourage them from getting too close to it before it’s had a chance to cool off. It’s a bit of an inconvenience, but I’m sure that most other heat tools are like that.
Overall, I love this curling iron, but it makes me face my fear of being burned. If there were another version that wouldn’t burn me no matter my inexperience, I would prefer that one. I still love this curler and think it’s super easy to use, even though I’m a beginner. I highly recommend it. I also think it’s really good when compared to the price because there are several other tools that are much more expensive that do the same thing.
