日本版は？？？です。輸入版はそれはそれは凄いです。更に安い。このジャンルの映画の英語なら別に英語力が弱くてもなんとかなります。セルビアンフィルムも現地版は安くて凄い。詳細の言葉はわかりませんが、十分内容は理解できます。ただ、追記しますが、内容が良いかといわれると大したことはありません。映像の一部が凄いだけです。

演技が安っぽく軽くて下手だから見ててつまらない

I discovered this film by accident and I'm glad i did. It turned out to be really good. It's an unusual story about a hot chick who is actually a serial killer. It has plenty of gore too, which i like. I also love the fact that all through the movie, she makes reference to various movie quotes (Now do you want to see something REALLY scary?, Is it safe, etc.) I know there are a lot of negative reviews here about this movie but if you don't know what to expect, its good. There is a lot of great music all through it too, by a group called the Low Budgets, particularly the songs, "I'll Wipe My Ass With The World." and "Philladlphia." If you haven't seen this and like gory movies like "Hostel", you'll love this one....

In this 2009 horror, a young woman [billed as ‘The Girl’, America Olivo], enters a bedroom and finds a man and a woman tied to chairs, she acts shocked, but it is soon revealed that she murdered them. She then leaves the house to continue on her murder spree, but what’s driving it and who’s next, perhaps Don, who she’s stalking?
An obvious 18 rating with swearing, sadistic torture, body mutilations –involving many household implements, multiple murders and scenes of sex [non explicit], this still has some humorous moments, such as when she cuts herself, and it’s obvious this doesn’t take itself entirely seriously. It’s a sort of ’Saw’ meets ’Julia X’ with a ‘Groundhog Day’ element thrown in as the timeline seems all over the place, or is that down to Don’ ‘stoner’ lifestyle?
The single disc opens to 3 trailers then offers play, scene selection, audio options [2.o default, 5.1, and 2 audio commentaries] and bonus features [2 commentaries, behind the scenes, fight scene, gag reel]. Gore fans will like the lashings of blood, sickening torture and special effects [even if many are poorly done], while there are a few jumpy scary moments to liven things up but those seeking answers or a deep plot will be disappointed. You’ll either love this, or hate it, there’s really little middle ground with this twisted tale that captures the ‘B’ movie spirit, and I liked the ending……….

maybe it's my fault. Maybe not. I can't figure this one out. It seems like a fairly straight forward horror story -- man gets tied to chair, man gets tortured. The man in question keeps waking up from a dream while watching a movie and everything changes every time he does. It made me wonder if maybe I had fallen asleep somewhere. I was expecting a final scene that would explain everything, but it never came. The film is grotesque in its violence and impossible to understand in its conctruction. I admit I got this one for the cover featuring lovely America Olivio ... Her name is as baffling as this film, being pronounced AM-Rica ... But she never wears the outfit she dons on the cover ... In fact she never wears much of interest except a veil of blood and a sadistic smile. I don't get this one. I suggest you don't get it either.

Neighbor is a hard film to nail down. This is one of those film's that you either really like or really hate - evidence of this is that (at the time of this review's authorship) there are no 3-star reviews. Being that you see how many stars I have given it, you know which side of that equilibrium I am on so I'll jump right to the key points:

Neighbor seems to be explicitly for gorehounds or fans of the not-so-new anymore torture genre and so a lot of attention is paid to creative tortures and special effects. A gorehound myself, I was pleased with all I saw which includes drilled off toes, the back of a hammer shredding a shin, a mouth meeting a hacksaw, and the unpleasant meeting of a glass tube and a penis. If intense visuals are not your thing, you are probably not going to find much of value in this feature.

The first 15-20 minutes of the film are what I would call (for lack of a better term) the requisite character exposition though the characters are basically one-dimensional and their lives are bereft of anything that would make them very interesting or endearing. That lack of development or a more thought-out plot did hurt the film as none of the characters are memorable and the reasons for ...well, anything in the movie are not explained. That question (Why?) is even explicitly asked of the villainess and she replies with a very vague and uninformative answers then trails off. That being said, I was able to find enjoyment in the film by not getting upset over this point and just accepting it for what it is. Not every killer has a motive, not every victim finds out why they're victims, and not every villain seeks to go to great lengths to explain themselves - so it is in that spirit that the film can work as a snapshot of a day in the life of this killer.

The film does give a great attempt at trying to pull away from 90 minutes of simple torture as a point will come in the film where you won't be sure what has happened. In the absence of clear explanation, you are forced to draw your own conclusions until it becomes evident what is real. I know that sounds contrived but there isn't a better way to explain it. Moments like this elevate the film a bit from simple sadism.

Bottom Line:

You will not see acting deserving of an Academy Award nor will the characters or plot be all that memorable. However, this does have some wonderful moments and some even better effects (particularly for a low budget horror film). This film is a sincere attempt to make something that is gut-wrenching to watch but unique among the films in this subgenre. I applaud the efforts and forgive the shortcomings because it is entertaining in the end. Again, if you DO NOT like torture films you will NOT like this, so I'd pass. If you DO like torture films or you love gore, this one is worth at least a rental - and even then, it may be too much for some, not enough for others (can't please everyone) - and I recommend it to you.

Neighbor is worth a look.

Totally loved this flick. And the great thing is it is wide open for a sequel (Hopefully). Beauty can be quite beastly if given the chance, and the new Neighbor (America Olivo) shows just how much. This Psycho B*tch might even turn Hannibal Lecter and Buffalo Bill's stomachs and make the owners of the Hostels want to close their doors. An all out psycho kill-fest of one twisted wicked Beauty. AAA+++
