セルフパロディーを織り込みつつ佳作に仕上がったMI第四作のスティル・カメラマンによる撮影日誌。日本でも映画宣伝の初期に使われたイーサンが超高層ビルの外でピョーンって中吊りになっている写真のオリジナル・ショット（またはイメージ元）と思われる写真も入っている。ショットによってはワイヤーが消去されているんじゃないかと思うものもあるが、まあ良しとしよう。エンタテインメントに命を捧げるトム様のひたむきな姿を見たければ買いだ。

This is an amazingly gorgeous book! Wonderful for anyone that's a fan of the series, the actors, filmmaking, or still photography. The text is sparse, but very insightful into the filmmaking process. Familiar scenes from the movie are shown from new angles with amazing details. I wish they'd made one of these for each movie. I bought a used copy, but after seeing it, I believe the full price for a new copy is entirely warranted.

As a budding film stills shooter, David James is God-tier to me. And many others. This brilliant book has fantastic images that make me want to do this job even more. And get better and better. Some nice little backstories to some of these shots too.
You don’t have to be a fan of the ‘Mission’ films to appreciate the eye of David James...recommended

Although light on text, this book is a must for anyone who enjoyed this movie! Great behind-the-scenes shots, especially those
in Dubai. Pity there are no production notes, though. I found my own off the net. Still worth the money!

Erfreulicherweise erfüllte der Film schon die Erwartungen, die ich an seine Unterhaltungsqualitäten gestellt habe. Die "Kulissen" im Film snd zudem sehr beeindruckend. Dieses Buch liefert nun zweierlei. Zum einen bekommt man nette kleine Anekdoten aus der Produktionszeit des Films zu lesen. Der Fotograph/Autor hat die Dreharbeiten quasi permanent begleitet und im Bild festgehalten.

Zum anderen bekommt man natürlich die besten dieser Bilder zu sehen. Und die sind wirklich gut geworden. Man bekommt hier also eine Art Produktionstagebuch, allerdings mit deutlichem Fokus auf Bilder, weniger auf Text. Die Materialqualität des Buches passt auch gut dazu. Gedruckt ist es auf hochwertigem Glanzpapier.

Ich wurde von dem Werk gut unterhalten und bin durch die Bilder noch mehr beeindruckt von der Leistung von Tom Cruise und seinem Willen möglichst alle Stunts selbst zu performen und diese auch noch mal für den Fotographen zu wiederholen selbst wenn der Take für den Film schon fertig im Kasten ist.

Nice book! The photos are amazing. Mission Impossible is such a great franchise and I have been a HUGE fan since part 1. This is s agrwo showing of what goes on during shooting and how amazing the stunts and things Tom Cruise does.
