Ganbare Goemon is a pretty neat game, though the language barrier does get in the way from time to time with minigame shops that look the same doing different things and...well, basically I stopped going to those. After that, the language barrier didn't really affect me much. The game plays rather solid up until level 6 where the game becomes obviously padded, requiring you to grind up lots of money to buy an arbitrarily expensive item of which the only purpose is to let you continue the game. The game pulls this again in level 8, disabling you from breaking a hidden path needed to continue on until you bought a stupidly pricey item and spake with a guy. However, the game has its charms, just not enough to keep me too invested into wanting to play another round any time soon. Oh, and before I forget, there is a lot of enemy spam in level 6+, as part of the padding, so that you get continually bludgeoned by enemies with no hope of evading just so that hte game can whittle down your health and lives to lengthen the game.
