This is an enjoyable and informative book -- and worth the price for the interviews with Jeffrey Vallance, Harry Kipper, and Joe Coleman alone. It's got lots of interviews with artists i'd never heard of, which was refreshing, and it's all very candid and accessible. It looks at artists that seek to (or apparently relish in their ability to) confound, upset, shock, provoke, or amuse, especially through the use of performance art. The title sort of undermines the variety and breadth of the book, so don't be fooled. It's a great book, and a go-to manual on a weirder, sicker, more marginal art history than the one you might be used to.
