長い話だったが、ジュリア・ロバーツが最後まで見せてくれた。ただ、欧米人の感覚なのだと思うが、よくりかいできないものがたりでもあった。今の時代ではどうだろうか。価値観の違いだろうか。

離婚後、必死に一人で子供を育てながら、久しぶりの恋愛の機会に浮かれて。
でも、未来を想像するととても怖い。もし、この人との距離が縮まった後にお互い変わって上手くいかなかったら？とかそういう考えで溢れかえった時。
とても久しぶりにこの映画を見て、学ぶことが沢山ありました。

色んな考えを否定も肯定もせず、こうあるべき、とかも無い、私にとっては色んな気付きが沢山詰まっている大好きな話です。

同じように少し苦しくなってる人には見て欲しいです。

いろいろあるけど、確かにUbudoは私も行きましたが、良かったです。
女性の悩み、迷いながら生きる姿に共感できます。
飾らないジュリアも好きです。

邦題だと言いたい事が伝わらないかも・・・・
ライアン＝マーフィーが普通の劇場版作品撮ったって事が驚きでしたがつまりある意味普通の映画です。
人が死ななけりゃゲイもビアンも出て来ない。
しかし言葉遊びが好きな人にはニヤニヤさせられる作品です。
あと、ライアン＝マーフィーってつくづく女の心理を描くのが上手いなあって思いました。

I read through some of the other reviews, but I absolutely loved this movie! (I love movies based on true stories.) I'm sure a great deal was missing and to really get the full picture you needed to read the book. But I would recommend this to any woman who is in her 40's (even 30's) that has experienced life and different relationships. The characters in this were truly believable. I hate to stereotype, but the "want-a-be" actor she gets mixed up with and thinks she is love with was so dead on. Her explanation / analysis in front of an audience of this kind of love was truly believable. (Think about people in your own life who have ended a realtionship and jumped right into another one without taking time to heal, etc.) I tend to be an extremely giving person and I did not look at this from the angle of her being a selfish human being. Why? Well a two hour movie is not going to give you the complete picture without reading the book.

The movie doesn't really develop her relationship gone sour with her husband and I would hope the book explained / had more detail on this. I wasn't making an assumption this non christian suddendly decides as her last resort sto pray to God (it was very apparent she lacked this in her life) for help and then tell her husband it's over. There is always alot more to a story. My guage was that the movie picked up pretty much at the end of a relationship and that the main character was not willing to work on it. Once again we are missing the "rest of the story". So you have to pick up her journey from there.

Talk about courage. Imagine, as she stated in the movie, she has always been in a realtionship with someone since 15 and now she is not in any relationship and completely leaving her comfort zone. She's not moving to another state - she is leaving the country!! Everyone she knows, everyday surroundings, all of it! Think about taking that kind of a risk in todays world as a single female. And along this journey they portrayed that she met some truly good people Vs. those trying to harm. Talk about luck and finding goodness in others. Once again the movie portrays the more sunshine piece of this and not the difficult / pissy situations she encountered by going to 3 different places she was not familiar with. Imagine having a great time in Italy, being happy and then uprooting yourself to India with no guarantees of any sort. (If you want to analzye it here is this needy person who was looking for anyone to fulfill what was missing from her life and now she is on a quest to find peace within herself that doesn't necessarily equate to being with someone. Here was a dependent person who now is independent. That is a leap).

This movie conveyed a sense of real people with real emotions. I cried when the character from Texas finally opened up to her and explained why he needed to forgive himself. And I have no doubt that he truly gave her the nickname "Groceries". It was brilliant when her ex-husband to be conveyed to her that he had no idea what her issues were. Pathetic yes from the standpoint that people fail to truly communicate with each other in life. The characters in this were believable. Even the Brazilian gentleman she meets. I would bet it was true that this guy was hurt so badly by his ex-wife that he hadn't given his heart to anyone in almost 10 years.

Sure based on some of the reviews not everyone will like this movie. But it you have taken chances in life and moved from your comfort zone you may have a totally different reaction to this movie and a different level of interpretation. In closing another interpretation - I was so very disappointed years ago when I finally watched "The Way We Were" with Barbara Streistand. I did not think it was a love story at all. I saw this woman who continually gave to someone and so desperately wanted their love and they would never love her the same. When it was over I couldn't believe this movie was ever hyped as a love story. Maybe one sided. Food for thought - when you read reviews please remember everyone has their own opinions / interpretations based on their own life experiences. Read more than one review before you make a decision.

When this movie was over I was reminded of how grateful I am for what I have in my life and the good people I have met along the way. And how fortunate I was that I had found true love.
