Talk about busting on to the scene - check out the Maillard Brothers in this one !!! The drumming and guitar playing are fast, crisp, intense, smart. If you love prog fusion metal.... THis CD is loaded with licks and they are tight as a drum. Jan Maillard is the best drummer I have heard since Portnoy (assuming he can perform his parts efficiently live). This CD offers up a bounty of ear sugar for those of us musicians that love complex musical acrobatics. Dominici (in my opinion) did much better with his lyrics and singing in this third installment. Additionally, there were more melodic hooks throughout the work. So Dream Theater did not release a CD this year? Well guess what, Dominici did us DT fans a favor and filled in the gap. This is very close to DT in flavor but with a hint of symphony. I love it, and am fascinated by it and look forward to more from the Maillard Brothers ! A definite buy for DT fans.
Wouldn't buy the first two in trilogy if I had a choice. Would not want to taint O3 with what I understand are inferior albums. Be warned, Dominici could be construed as not such a great christian -from listening to album. Would not recommend for Christian Zelots.

I liked Part 2 of the o3 trilogy, but I couldn't stand Charlie Dominici dominicing the entire o1 project with soft acoustic pandering and heavy vocals in the worst sense. I mean, the guy got kicked out of dream theater when they were coming up, and James Labrie, James Labrie!!! Is still their frontman 25 years later. And MAN do they do not know how to pick frontmen. That aside, this is one of the most disgustingly clean and visionary metal albums I've come across, granted I haven't come across toooo many.
Definitely recommend if you like ANYTHING prog rock/metal.
